Are We ALL READY yet?
Every find yourself putting things off because you don’t feel All Ready?
Like that perfect time will come, your tool kit will be perfectly stocked and organized, your energy and enthusiasm will be robust, and you’ll dive in with the full support of the Universe all around you, humming and whistling as you go?
Me too.
And how does that work for you?
Things rarely happens that way for me. If what I aspire to is big—big goals, big plans, big change—I more likely feel uncertain, maybe scared, always unsure about the outcome.
And you know what? When I wait until I’m All Ready, I never get things done.
Consider this: when are we ever ready—really ready—for jumping over the precipice of Big Change into the abyss of the unknown? Isn’t that just what it feels like? Even the new food plan, gym, or yoga class feels scary? That very first walking across the threshold into our new lives—into change—it’s so hard!
We can get our plan organized and our gear together, but it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever possess that deep sense in our guts that now is the time.
However, in spite of not feeling ready, we all have the capacity to be brave, to hope, and to commit. We can do all of these even when we’re scared, uncertain, and unsure about the outcome.
So here’s my personal rule: I let go of the need to be All Ready for anything. I do my best to prepare, but I just show up, without the comfort of certainty, and I dive in. It might suck. It might be great. It might be mind-blowingly magical.
Have a beautiful day!
