Were we born this way?
Or are we just the unfortunate few (because, you know, look at all those perfectly happy people all around us, who smile at one another, who always sit together, who clearly have lifetime passes to their special tribes—the ones we don’t belong to)?
Searching (and hustling) for worthiness—for how to fit in and where we belong?
If we’d only lucked into the unconditional love and strength we needed from the get-go…
But what if the tribal elders of our youth were, themselves, hustling for their worthiness and belonging?
Are we screwed?
Or maybe… just maybe… by not intrinsically knowing our true worth and to whom we belong, we search. And search. And agonize. And lose faith. And receive grace. And come to an understanding—bit-by-bit and day-by-day—that our worth is already right here (it was all along) and our belonging is just inside—inside our very own hearts.
And with incredible relief we learn that while we may not have a pass to their happy fests, we’ve got one to ourselves—to our great big blazing hearts…
We were born worthy.
Have a Beautiful day!
