We get the truth of body-mind-spirit integration, don’t we?
But in our rush to get to the bliss and awe we forget about the work we have to do first. Right?
I think it starts with the body.
Maybe it’s just me, but when I don’t eat well, or skimp on sleep, or slack off—or push myself mercilessly—it’s hard to access bliss and awe.
That comes with the discipline and vigilance of self-care.
When I take care of myself well, my energy soars— not just my physical stamina, but the vibrant energy of feeling fully alive and awake and aware—present.
Only then do I get to experience that peace and solace and beautiful energy flow of my meditation practice. The gorgeous body-mind-spirit alignment and awareness of my yoga practice. The mind-blowing connection to Nature on my walks in the woods. Or the soul churning connections with the people I love.
We know what that means, right? Nutrient-rich, non-toxic food. Deep sleep. Rest and play. Movement. Hugs.
They elevate everything.
